The Wind and Solar project will bring significant investment into the Kondinin area and we wish to share the benefits and opportunities with the wider community.
A Community Fund of $100,000 per year will be established with grants being provided each year from the start of construction and annually throughout the 25 year life of the project. Local projects and initiatives that benefit the community in the neighbouring areas of the Kondinin Wind and Solar Farm will be eligible to apply for support from the Community Fund.
The projects that receive funding will be determined by the representative committee that will assess funding requests. The volunteer representatives can be members of the local community, representatives/officers of the Council and representatives of project host landowners.
Before and during construction, we will hold regular meetings with the community to ensure we are informing you of the works that will be taking place.
A Community Exhibition took place at the Kondinin Community Resource Centre on 28 September 2017. The exhibition was well advertised and had over 40 attendees throughout the day. Further updates are planned as the project progresses.
